Ein Gedi, Masada, the Dead Sea, and Ein Prat

Today we descended from Jerusalem to Ein Gedi, the oasis where David hid himself from the searches of Saul.  We passed by Qumran, and we saw ibex and hyrax along the way.  The waterfalls in Ein Gedi are beautiful.  It makes sense that David would want to choose to hide there.

From Ein Gedi we traveled to Masada, the site of gruesome events in Jewish and Roman history.

From Masada we took a short trip to the Dead Sea for a mud bath, a salt bath, and fresh water to rinse off.

After washing up, we went up again to Jerusalem to the Mechina of Ein Prat to visit with future IDF soldiers.  We had great conversations, and we sang songs with the young students of the school that represent the future hope of Israel.
