Yad Vashem, the Knesset, and Jerusalem Neighborhoods

This morning we went to Yad Vashem, the Holocaust memorial museum in Jerusalem.  Even the architecture of the museum has symbolic significance.  The guide asked us to peruse the website after the tour because there is much more than can be seen and understood in one day.  We were not permitted to take pictures inside, but I snapped a few photos of the exterior.  I also got one picture of the Holocaust survivor who spoke to us after the tour, as well as pictures of a group of IDF soldiers and pictures of a group of Israeli children.

Next we visited the Knesset, where we met with a member of the Knesset, Michael B. Oren, author of Power, Faith, and Fantasy: America in the Middle East 1776 to the Present.

After lunch and a brief discussion concerning the Philos Project, our group went to South Jerusalem, to Gilo, and to view Bethlehem and Arab villages from the hilltops.

Tomorrow is the last day of our adventures in Israel, at least for the time being.
